CPVC Pipe Replacement
If your CPVC water lines have leaked, cracked, or needed repeated repairs, the next step is to understand how much of the system is affected. Red Cedar Repipe evaluates CPVC supply piping and provides replacement options based on the home’s condition.

A BETTER PLAN FOR YOUR HOME
A replacement plan based on the piping you have
CPVC is a plastic piping material used for hot and cold water supply. It is different from PEX and from PVC typically seen in other plumbing applications. The material should be identified from its markings and installation, rather than color alone.
A home with CPVC does not automatically need a complete repipe. We review visible condition, reported failures, previous repairs, and access to determine an appropriate scope. If replacement is the practical choice, our team installs a new REHAU PEX supply system with connections and routing planned around the house.
KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR
When to have your pipes assessed
01
Cracks or leaks have been found in accessible CPVC supply lines.
02
Failures have occurred in more than one location.
03
Previous plumbing repairs have left a mixed system with uncertain remaining condition.
04
You are planning a remodel and want the existing water lines assessed before closing walls.
Repair or repipe? Start with the cause.
The key question is whether the problem is confined to one component or reflects a wider pattern. A repair at one fitting and recurring failures throughout the home call for different conversations. We review the history with you and explain the proposed replacement boundaries.
For an accurate estimate, tell us where leaks have occurred and whether any pipes were replaced during earlier renovations. Existing records can help identify hidden runs. The plan should also address fixture connections, the water heater connections, and access openings where relevant.
THE RED CEDAR APPROACH
Care at every step.
01
Assessment & written scope
We review the existing system, plan access and routing, and discuss pricing and timing. Confirm which water lines, connections, and optional services are included before work begins.
02
Protection & installation
The team prepares the work areas and installs the new supply piping. We explain the planned water shutoff and access needs so you can prepare your household.
03
Testing & walkthrough
We pressure-test the new system and walk through the completed work. Drywall patching is an optional add-on. See our repiping process for more detail.
BUILT AROUND YOUR HOME

We use REHAU PEX for residential repiping, with routing, access, and connections planned for your property. The new system is pressure-tested before the final walkthrough.
BEFORE YOU DECIDE
Your questions,
answered.
Understand the scope, the process, and what to expect.
Is CPVC the same as PEX?
No. They are different piping materials with different installation and connection methods. Red Cedar Repipe uses REHAU PEX for its residential repiping work.
Should every home with CPVC be repiped?
No. Material alone is not a complete diagnosis. Condition, leak history, installation details, and your planned work should inform the recommendation.
Can you evaluate a system that mixes CPVC with other pipes?
Yes. Our team evaluates mixed-material water supply systems and identifies the proposed replacement scope. Ask which existing sections and connections will remain after the work.
Is drywall repair included?
Drywall patching is an optional add-on, or you can use your own contractor. Confirm the access, patching, and finishing scope when comparing estimates.
